Awareness is HUGE in following your own good advice.

Since we can&#039;t physically see ourselves from third-person, we need to emotionally detach ourselves from whatever it is we&#039;re trying to do. Pretend that we&#039;re giving advice to a close friend.

It&#039;s tough at first, but like with anything, the more you try to see your circumstance objectively, the easier it becomes.

One trick that has greatly helped me is right after giving someone some great advice, I look at my own circumstance immediately. Since thinking about my friend&#039;s circumstance is still fresh in my mind, I use that objective mindset on myself before it wears off.

Here&#039;s to not only being congruent, but improving our own life with our great advice we give to others,
